Vectis Life Sciences
The Vectis Life Sciences Fund I Limited Partnership was established to provide investors with an opportunity to participate in a strategic national life sciences investment vehicle based in St. Louis, Missouri. The Fund is capitalized with $81.0 million from leading Missouri-based institutional investors, including Ameren UE, Barnes-Jewish Hospital Foundation, The Danforth Foundation, James S. McDonnell Foundation, McCarthy Building Companies, Missouri Foundation for Health, Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 36 Pension Fund, University of Missouri, and Washington University.
St. Louis has developed into one of the leading life sciences research centers in the country and includes such institutions as Washington University, Saint Louis University, University of Missouri, the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center and the corporate research programs of Monsanto, Pfizer, Sigma Aldrich and Mallinckrodt. These research activities are further enhanced by a number of world-class organizations in Kansas City, including the Stowers Institute and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
The Vectis Life Sciences Fund was established to leverage off this strong foundation and help build St. Louis and the region into a center of venture funding and company formation.
